1950s

If you have have been reading this blog for a while you should know that I love the 1950s. The cars were the best ever. I cannot believe the difference in style from the 1950s to today. Yuck. Everyone knows my favorite car is a 1957 Chevrolet Belair hardtop in red and cream. Beautiful.
They also had great clothing in the 1950s. Women wore dresses every day. Even to vacuum the house. There was no such thing as going to the grocery store in pajama bottoms. Everyone looked classy all the time.
Sparky knows about my love for all things 50s so he took me to the Road Rocket Rumble. It was held in the parking lot of some hotel in Indianapolis. It was rather small, but it only cost $5 to get in, so I can't complain. It was great. There were 50s cars all over the place, along with people dressed in their Rockabilly garb. You know, men dressed straight out of Grease and the women dressed like pin-up girls. It was fun.
Sparky even bought me a little present. A hand-made headband so I could pretend like I was in the 50s too!

I think it looks good against my hair. Until I can invent a time machine and go back in time, I am going to pretend like I am in the 50s with all of the modern conveniences such as computers, internet, cell phones, and modern medicine.

Oh! I almost forgot!!! Look what someone there did! They took an old carriage, mounted it on a modern chassis with an engine, and attached some plastic kiddie horses to the front. It is hilarious and really drives!!!
